Compliance

The various compliance and safety units in Research, Innovation & Impact (RII) support research excellence at The University of Arizona (UA) through the adoption and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the safe, legal, and ethical conduct of research. Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

When University of Arizona researchers have a government contract or award that indicates that they are working with Controlled Unclassified Information, or contract clauses that indicate that NIST SP 800-171 controls are required, they will be required to work within CUI research computing environments.

University Information Technology Services can work with researchers to establish an Amazon Web Services GovCloud computing environment, provide a secured laptop and encrypted USB, and a portal for secured communications with project sponsors, meeting NIST SP 800-171 requirements.
